Now It's Even Easier To Recycle!
(And, there’s a new contest to top it off…)
Hillsborough County is challenging all residents of Carrollwood Village to recycle more! They’ve issued a goal of increasing recycling by 10 percent. And, they’re partnering with a national organization, The Curbside Value Partnership (www.RecycleCurbside.org) to make it happen. Their successes will be shared nationally as a best practice.
So, let’s help!
You can start today by recycling more and by putting your recycling bins out every weekmotivation!
Don’t have a recycling bin? Or, need a new one? No problem. You can do it all on-line, so what are you waiting for? Go to the County’s new recycling Web site, www.HillsboroughRecycles.org, to request yours today.
DID YOU KNOW?
- If we recycled just 10 percent more in Hillsborough County this year, that would:
- Offset enough to water the average lawn 917,000 times
- Be enough to run a television for 140 million hours
- Take 11,000 dump trucks off Hillsborough County’s roads
- Last year, County residents saved over 345,800 trees by recycling 20,344 tons of paper. How cool is that?
- Once an aluminum can is recycled, it can be part of a new can within six weeks.
You may even get an extra shot at entering the contest when you order your recycling bins TODAY!
Recycling 5 lbs of paper will conserve enough water to “offset” the water used in a typical shower.
