Emerald Greens Golf Resort & Country Club

Emerald Greens Restaurant Understandably, with the struggling economy, the influx of new restaurants moving into the Village has slowed. I do, however, have my eye on Westshore Pizza, slated to be opening in the Village Center soon. I have my fingers crossed as we still so miss Windy City.

I was at Emerald Greens Country Club working out at the Fitness Center and contemplating a restaurant review (the more time I spend trying all these restaurants, the more time I must get myself to the Fitness Center), when I ran into Barbara, a wonderful lady I know from my Bally’s days before the Fitness Center opened up. As we were on the stair-steppers, she mentioned how much she enjoyed the restaurant reviews. I shared with her my dilemma about coming up with a restaurant to review.

Quickly our conversation turned to how much she loved the sweet potato fries served at Emerald Greens Country Club. The light bulb went off.

We are so blessed with all that Emerald Greens Country Club has added to the Village. And, one of those perks is the Country Club dining itself. The food is really good! And, the prices are reasonable. The main menu includes, pasta, fresh fish, steaks, short ribs, pork chops, chicken and lamb chops. Prices range from $13-$27 dollars and most
entrees include soup or salad, fresh breads with flavorable butters and vegetable of the day. The bar menu and appetizers are great and are nice portions. I especially recommend the sweet chile glazed buffalo shrimp with cool sesame ginger and cucumber salad with sriracha sauce.

We especially enjoy the Wednesday Italian night. Your pasta is made to order in front of you, with your choice of pasta, ingredients, and sauce. Your meal includes an absolutely wonderful antipasto salad, and bread with a pesto olive oil dipping sauce, all for $14.95 per adult and $5.95 for kids. My kids have even been tempted to try new creations and my youngest is now in love with spinach!

Thursday nights are family nights. Kids eat free from their own kid friendly buffet (adult dinner entrée purchase required) and enjoy a coloring station, movies and a balloon artist! On our most recent dining, we had a sweet waitress named Samantha. As it is with most of the staff, you usually get to talking and we learned that Samantha has lived in the Village with her family for her entire life (20 years). She is excited to be a new part of

the Emerald Greens Country Club family.

We really enjoy being a part of Emerald Greens Country Club and like seeing our Village friends up at the Club. A social membership at Emerald Greens Country Club is reasonably priced and includes dining privileges and use of the Aquatics Center and the Fitness Center. It is definitely worth checking out.
